Welcome

I’m Jennie, a person-centred counsellor with over 16 years’ experience helping people navigate life’s challenges.

I offer a supportive, confidential space where you can feel truly heard, respected, and understood. As a fully insured and registered member of the British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP), I work to the highest professional standards.

About me

My journey as a counsellor began as a volunteer with Childline, where I saw how powerful it can be to feel genuinely listened to and supported.

Since then, I’ve built extensive experience through my work with a range of counselling organisations before setting up my own private practice. I’ve supported clients facing:

  • Anxiety and stress

  • Bereavement and loss

  • Domestic abuse

  • Life transitions and major changes

  • Past trauma

  • Relationship and identity issues

It’s a privilege to walk alongside people as they gain clarity, self-understanding, and new ways to move forward.

My approach

I work from a person-centred perspective, based on the belief that each of us has the capacity for growth, healing, and change.

In our sessions, I won’t give advice or tell you what to do. Instead, I’ll provide empathy, acceptance, and a safe space for you to explore your thoughts and feelings at your own pace.

My aim is to help you build trust in yourself, make your own decisions, and move forward with greater confidence.

How counselling can help

Counselling is a talking therapy that offers a consistent, confidential space to explore what matters most to you, past, present, or future.

Together, we might explore:

  • Your emotional well-being and mental health

  • Life changes and personal growth

  • Relationship difficulties

  • Experiences from the past that still affect you today

  • Your identity and self-understanding

Sessions can be short-term or long-term, depending on your needs. They usually take place weekly, in-person or online, providing both consistency and flexibility.

Through counselling, you can begin to make sense of your thoughts and feelings, gain new perspectives, and develop greater self-awareness. Over time, this can help you feel more grounded, confident, and better equipped to navigate life’s challenges.

Next steps

Taking the first step can feel daunting, but you don’t have to do it alone.

If you’d like to see whether counselling with me feels comfortable and supportive for you, I offer a free 20-minute initial phone or video call. No pressure, just a chance to talk.

Offering in-person and online sessions.

Whenever you feel ready, I’m here to listen. Reach out, and we can take that first step together.
